Quality Assessment of Borehole Water in-Terms of Selected Physicochemical Parameters in Maiduguri Urban Areas, Borno State, Nigeria

In Nigeria, over 120 million peoples use boreholes as their main source of drinking water and in-view the increasing volume solid waste materials in Maiduguri, it has become exigencies to evaluate quality borehole waters city. Result obtained revealed that pH all was within range 6.5 8.5 recommended limit by World Health Organization (WHO). Except for at Bulumkutu ward which acidic (6.2). pHs from three wards were alkaline. total dissolved electrical conductivity fall WHO, except Ngarannam (1100 mg/l) (2220 uS/cm). concentration major ions (Na, Mg K) far below WHO thus can said be excellent terms these elements. Cl ion (262 mg/g) Gwange above permissible WHO. study recommends performing regular testing different sources area ensure commensurate attention given maintaining a healthy population.
